How to cultivate Gratitude?

Cultivating gratitude is one of the best thing you can do in your life. Being grateful is a choice not a chance. One has to constantly add activities in one’s life that increase gratitude in him/her.

There are a ton of ways to be grateful, and improve your life, here I am providing some of the ways. You don’t have to try them all but you can experiment with them and try what works for you. Come again and again to look for different techniques and with time you will get better and have a more fulfilled life.

  1. Gratitude Journal:

Starting a gratitude journal is one of the best things I added in my life. Every day in the morning I write at least one thing I am grateful for, and I try to not repeat anything. Over time the list has gone so vast that I can never feel ingratitude again. Wherever I feel down, I can simply go back to my morning gratitude journal and start reading the blessing I have in my life.

  1. No Criticism:

One important thing that I learnt from my teacher Salman Asif Siddiqui, is that ‘for a grateful person complaining is next to impossible.’ Every time I was finding something wrong with my food and I was complaining about it, and that made my experience bitter with time. But then I promised to myself that I will never criticize my food again. It took me some time to get used to it but I removed negativity from my life. Now I don’t complain about the food at all, (or anything else) but sometimes at the proper time and place I give positive feedback.
