In my present job as a Dental Assistant I was not satisfied because:
- There is no growth in the field. You can’t become a Dentist with practice.
- Also you earn very less. Even my salary was less than my expenses.
- I was not getting paid for my input. I was working from morning till evening, trying to do my best, at the end of day I was exhausted, but no body was seeing my work.
- The work was repetitive, where as I am a creative person I live doing creative stuff. I don’t like to do same thing a thousand times, rather I will build a system to do it for myself. For any repetitive task in my life I want to create a automatic system for it to run on auto-pilot.
Just for working few months as a Dental Assistant I thought I am not made for this. Here, I learned so many things about how a company works, what are the different types of employees, what is office politics, how do customers behave, how a team works, what is a good and bad leader etc but I am not seeing growth in my career here. So next thing in my mind was trying to become a Data Scientist.
Data Scientist, a very good title- Scientist. I wanted to be that person. But it takes a lot of learning and time to become a data scientist. But here is the thing, you can start from scratch and tread one step at a time. That said first step in becoming a Data Scientist is to become a Data Analyst.
As always when you don’t have somebody to guide you, you turn towards ChatGPT. After discussing a lot with ChatGPT I finally bought a Datacamp subscription for one year and started their learning data analysis on datacamp. But after a while I found it very boring, as there was very less explanation and lot of exercises which were above my head.
After some time I enrolled in another course PW Skills. I watched only few introductory lectures after that I was sick and having rest at home. So during that free time I turned to ChatGPT again and discussed with it about my plan of quitting my present job and changing my career path.
